Overview

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It is studied because it retains the signalling behaviour associated with the parent hormone's C-terminus while carrying none of its pigmentation activity — a clean separation that makes it useful in model systems. Preclinical work describes interaction with NF-κB and MAP-kinase signalling. Supplied lyophilized for laboratory research.
