Overview

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide: residues 4 to 7 of adrenocorticotropic hormone extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro tripeptide that slows enzymatic cleavage. The ACTH fragment it is built from carries none of the corticotropic activity of the full hormone, which is the point of the design. Published research on the molecule sits mainly in Russian-language literature and is largely small or non-randomised. Supplied lyophilized for laboratory research.
